The ScreenSask Saskatoon Crew Accelerator will offer up to 15 people who live in and around Saskatoon an opportunity to take part in an intensive, hands-on training program where they will learn the basics of working in a film & television production department, then put their skills to work as a paid intern on a film or television production where they will earn a credit.

This is designed to offer professional development experience for both ’emerging’ crew who do not yet have a screen credit, and ‘intermediate’ crew who have credits but are hoping to step up into a new position.

 
80% of positions will be reserved for those who identify as members of an Indigenous or Equity-Seeking Community.
 

Part One: Training Accelerator

Four day intensive hands-on workshop, taking place May 31 – June 3, 2025 in Saskatoon, SK.

May 31| Day 1 | On-Set Safety & Set Protocol

June 1 |  Day 2 | Department specific training

June 2 | Day 3 | Department specific training

June 3 | Day 4 | Mock Shoot applying your training

Participants will be paid an honorarium of $15/hr for taking part in the training

 

Part Two: On-Set Internship

Participants who successfully complete Part One will be placed in a two week internship on a feature film or television project shooting in Saskatchewan. They will be trained hands-on in working in the department they are selected for, under the instruction of a Department Head or Key, and will receive a credit for their work on the show.

The timing of this internship will depend on production schedules and participant’s availability.

During the internship, participants will be paid an honorarium equivalent to the weekly rate paid to a Production Assistant.

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from ScreenSask one they have successfully completed both parts of the program. Participants must be 18 or older.

  • You must be available May 31 – June 3 to take part in the Training Accelerator.
